Tdi blue smoke on acceleration

My 12-year-old car has started to blow blue smoke from the exhaust when starting after sitting overnight or longer on cold days. The smoke stops within a few seconds. I assume this means that oil is dripping into a combustion chamber and burning off, and that the rings are sealing better when the engine gets warm. However, after coming down a hill and then accelerating I get a serious blue smoke out the tail pipes. Some oil mist on the inside of the intercooler and pipework is acceptable, but if liquid oil is accumulating in the pipework, or the vehicle emits blue smoke from the exhaust when accelerating, the turbo is probably past its best. In the end the bearings will collapse, destroying the seals and allowing oil to be pumped into the engine. Engine has around 50000 miles on it and ran fine till now. It smokes sometimes and some days it doesn't. When it does it seems it has to warm up first before it does. Also there's a lot of condensation coming out exhaust at times. It's about 74 around me and the exhaust blows out condensation smoke.

If it spews oil out the exhaust on acceleration it is more than likely the rings. If it spews oil out the exhaust when you are going down a hill off the accelerator it is more than likely valve guides.

If you drive spiritedly, you will see plumes of smoke in second and third gear at high RPM.
